For Affection
Some people say,
That Jesus was just a sailor,
Rich man, Poor man, Beggar-man, Thief,
Man, I don't know,
Some people swear,
That Heaven above is their saviour,
Let us be Strong,
We still got a long, long way to go,
How many times,
Did you stand up in line,
Just to be wanted?
And How many times,
As hard as you cried,
Did you get what you wanted?
Oooh... Don't lose your direction,
We don't just cry for effect,
We cry for affection.
The world turns round,
We all fall down,
The children cry...
For affection.
Someday you'll find,
That you won't get nothing from nothing,
And which way you turn, you find you
Got nothing to lose,
People are blind,
And nobody thinks about giving,
Out on the make,
Everybody takes more than they use
But what will it take,
When money don't make,
The life that you wanted?
What will it take,
For one day to wake up
And get what you wanted?
Oooh... Don't lose your direction,
We don't just cry for effect,
We cry for affection.
The world turns round,
We all fall down,
The children cry...
For affection.
And what do you do?
As you stand at the crossroads
And you can't see the Light I see,
Which road do you choose,
In search of the unknown?
Carry her home to me…
Oooh... Don't you lose your direction,
We don't just cry for effect,
We cry for affection.
The world turns round,
We all fall down,
The children cry...
They don't cry for effect, They cry for affection,
Cry for afflection,
They don't cry for effect, They cry for affection,
Cry for afflection,
They don't cry for effect, They cry for affection,
Cry for afflection.
